Rooms with Kyoto Character
Aoi Hotel Kyoto offers twin and quadruple rooms with river views. Rooms include a washing machine, dryer, CD player, and electric kettle. Some rooms feature a terrace overlooking the Kamogawa river. One twin room cannot accommodate children under 10 due to fragile decor. The property includes the Hijikata Toshizo Concept Room for Shinsengumi fans, created with the Toshizo Hijikata Museum.
Traditional Kyoto Dining
The hotel features Ishigamatei restaurant, which serves seasonal Kyoto vegetables and ingredients like bamboo shoots in spring and Kamo eggplant in summer. A 160-year-old Kyoto-style chakaiseki restaurant is on site. Guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat ochazuke buffet with various pickled vegetables. The property sells Uji matcha tea called 'Senju' and Uji Gyokuro tea, along with sweets from Tsubakido.
Garden Views & Tea
Guests can spend time on the terrace overlooking the Kamogawa river and Higashiyama mountain. The hotel offers five types of Suzunari dango: Kyoto-style white miso, sweet soy glaze with roasted soybean flour, black sesame soy sauce, grilled with soy sauce and nori, and coarse sweet red bean paste.
Gion Neighborhood Location
Aoi Hotel Kyoto is in Gion, known for traditional architecture and geisha culture. The property is 1 km from Yasaka Shrine and Nishiki Market Shopping District, 1.5 km from Chion-in and Sanjusangendo Temple, 2.5 km from Nijo Castle, and 4 km from Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine.
Minimalist Hospitality Approach
AOI provides space for guests to enjoy in their own way rather than exaggerated service. The hotel does not offer unnecessary customer care, focusing instead on time and privacy for guests.
